Global SJ follows the standard process of medical tourism / travel for facilitation!
The medical tourism process involves traveling abroad for healthcare. It typically follows a structured 7-step journey:
1. Research & initial consultation
Identify the specific procedure (e.g., cardiac surgery, joint replacement, dental, or cosmetic) and research accredited hospitals (such as those with JCI or NABH certifications). Contact hospitals directly through their International Patient Departments or use medical tourism facilitators.
2. Medical record sharing / Evaluation
Share your medical history, current diagnoses, and recent reports (X-rays, lab results) digitally. Specialists and surgeons review these files to determine if you are a candidate for the procedure and to draft a preliminary treatment plan.
3. Treatment planning / quotation
Receive a comprehensive, all-inclusive quote. This estimate generally outlines:
* Surgeon and anesthesiologist fees
* Diagnostics and implant costs
* Expected hospital stay (e.g., 3–5 days)
* Post-operative medications
* Duration of required stay abroad
4. Visa acquisition / Documentation
Obtain official documentation (usually a formal invitation letter from the treating hospital) required to apply for a specialized Medical Visa (often referred to as an “MED” or “Ayush” visa, depending on the destination).
5. Booking logistics
Finalize flights and accommodation. Many international patient coordinators provide or arrange all-inclusive packages that bundle:
* Airport transfers
* Local ground transportation
* Language interpreter services
* Recovery lodging for you and any accompanying attendants
6. Treatment and In-Hospital care
Upon arrival, undergo pre-operative tests, consultations, and final evaluations. You will complete the medical procedure and stay under hospital observation as long as medically necessary.
7. Recovery and post-treatment follow-up
Spend the recommended recovery period at your destination (ranging from 1–2 weeks for minor procedures to 4–6 weeks for major surgeries). Return home with your complete medical records, and participate in ongoing follow-up consultations digitally.

The Backbone of our Hospital
India has fully embraced the new global sharing economy and it’s increasingly possible to find great treatment.
Medical Tourism is a phenomenon by which individuals travel to a different country in order to obtain medical treatment or procedures for financial reasons. The media frequently portrays medical tourism in a negative light and emphasizes the elective nature of many of the procedures performed this way; for example, many Americans choose to have plastic surgery in Mexico because the prices for each procedure are significantly lower there
The Health Ministry, in collaboration with the National Health Authority, has developed a multi-lingual portal which would be a one- stop shop for services provided by medical travel facilitators and hospitals with an interface for foreign patients. The portal is also likely to be launched on Augest 15.
Accreditation attempts to ensure that medical tourism facilities meet basic safety standards, are staffed with trained personnel, and have appropriate medical equipment to perform the procedures offered.
